Update 4- It's been a while!


In my defense, I've moved three times in the past few months, and now I'm living in England for the foreseeable future. Remember when these things were meant to be weekly? Anyway. New stuff is in the order you'll encounter it in-game.


So, a few things: some new attack patterns for the first boss. The basis for some furi-style bullet hell phases.

Your right spear glows when a parry is available. Taking advantage of this stuns the enemy, and attacking will teleport you to the enemy. This is both a general gameplay mechanic, and a potential anti-cheese measure: eliminates the possibility of sitting in some weird corner and just spamming spear throws (currently the plan is to have any spear throws teleport you to them, so you can use it as a movement mechanic too).  

You can also get stunned now. The knockback/stun system got a rewrite, which includes the knocked back animation and more variable sliding behavior. The player's also getting some new attack animations, but those aren't done yet.

You can also spot a bit of the new background modeling: most of chapter 1 is set in a village surrounded by an artificially grown wall of trees. It's been around for centuries, so the trees have grown pretty huge.


Second boss WIP. This is the 'base' form of the thing, but you're fighting a corrupted version of it with its jaw ripped off and wings made of hanging ghosts, while walking upside-down on the sky.


Working on animations for boss #3. There are a bunch of more basic ones, but she's meant to have some pretty over-the-top flashy combos as well.


After you beat boss #3, you enter the city she was at the gates of. In this city is a great archive, and in said archive is a basement. The basement contains the main npc of act 2, this guy:


Except that he bit off more than he could chew during the third war and got liquefied by absurd amounts of elephant spider venom. They stuck what was left of him in a jar to research. Then the world collapsed, and he's still stuck in a basement, which is where you come in.
